NEWPORT Power have outclassed Werribee Districts in a low scoring contest with the Power winning by 33-points at their second game at Price Reserve this season.
Werribee controlled the early stages of the opening term, but their delivery going forward was wayward with Newport's Tyler Johnston and Sebastian Micucci regularly intercepting them.
In contrast, Newport made the most of limited forward entries to lead by 14-points at quarter-time.
Ahmed Mesto extended the lead with a quick snap in the opening minutes of the second quarter.
Despite their best efforts, Werribee continued to waste possession and didn't look like scoring with Newport holding them goalless for the half to trial, 4.7. (31) to 0.2. (2).
In the third quarter Werribee Districts applied greater pressure and were able to get their running game going.
Daniel Kerruish kicked their first goal at the second minute mark, but Newport's Mitchell Taleb responded to bring the margin back out to five goals.
However, two quick goals to Jayden Defina and Stephen Siale kept Werribee in the hunt going into the last break.
With the game still up for grabs and Werribee carrying the momentum into the fourth-quarter, they weren't able to get that much needed goal to reward their effort.
Newport's Yahya Hassna slotted a monster goal from 50 metres to effectively seal the game at the 16th minute mark before Youssef El Hawli and Mohammed Abouzeid stretched the margin to 33-points, with Newport recording its ninth win of the season.
In a clear best on ground performance Newport's Tyler Johnston was simply outstanding, Ahmed Mesto was all class and Chehab El Dannawi kicked two goals.
The ever consistent trio Scott Woods, Chanse Peixoto and Cameron Keenan battled manfully for Werribee Districts.
Meanwhile, a last quarter flurry saw Albion victors against the much improved Sanctuary Lakes who were in the contest for majority of the game.
However it was the Cats who won by 66-points at Featherbrook Reserve.
Albion's Jake Day was best on ground, Deon Dardha, Brandon Reid and James Leach all kicked three goals.
Xavier Smith was the Sharks best, kicking two goals, Luke Coleiro was strong at the contest and Rinor Zuzaku tried all game.
Round 14 will see a top two clash between Albion and Newport at JR Parsons Reserve as well as Sanctuary Lakes and Wyndhamvale Falcons at Featherbrook Reserve. Werribee Districts have the bye.
