WESTERN Bulldogs rookie and former Altona junior Luke Goetz will wear the number 40 in 2016.
The 202-centimetre ruckman, is a local western suburbs teenager, who played his junior football with the Vikings and more recently at the Western Jets in the TAC Cup.
He was recruited to the Dogs in the rookie draft.
Although still developing his craft, Goetz has showed significant highlights in the past 12 months, particularly during testing with the Western Bulldogs earlier this year.
“His running was outstanding, a good mix of speed and endurance and he’s a really strong character,” Bulldogs National Recruiting Manager Simon Dalrymple said following the draft.
“We think he’s going to take some time as most ruckman do. but he’s got some really solid fundamentals as a long-term ruckman.”
Goetz will officially join the club next week when he returns from an overseas school trip in Cambodia.
