THE coaching puzzle is complete, with all WRFL senior teams announcing who will lead their clubs in the 2016 season.
Most coaches have been re-appointed from this year, however some clubs have decided to head in a different direction, adding some new faces into the coaching mix.
Here is a list of the 2016 senior coaches:
Albanvale – John Thrush
John Thrush has been re-appointed coach of Albanvale, on the back of their first senior premiership in the Western Region Football League this season.
Thrush’s team won the Division Three minor premiership and then went on to claim the ultimate prize, defeating Parkside 12.12(84) to 7.7(49) in the grand final.
Albion – Aaron Tymms
Albion stalwart Aaron Tymms will once again lead the club’s young senior team in 2016 after being re-appointed as head coach.
Having played more than 400 games for the Cats, Tymms will enter his third consecutive season in the top job, becoming the second longest serving coach since 2000.
Altona – Saade Ghazi
Altona has announced Saade Ghazi has signed a two year coaching contract with the club.
A highly decorated coach and former player, Saade will bring a wealth of experience to Altona both on and off the field.
Braybrook – Jaime Lane
Braybrook has announced Jamie Lane as their senior coach for 2016.
Lane took over the helm from Michael Shepperbottom earlier this year and will continue to guide the Bombers next season.
Caroline Springs – Scott Korcyznski
The Caroline Springs Football Club has announced Scott Korcyznski as its senior coach for season 2016.
Korcyznski has had experience coaching in the TAC Cup as part of the Western Jets and in the VFL as part of the Werribee Football Club.
Deer Park – Marc Bullen
The Deer Park Football Club has re-signed senior coach Marc Bullen for season 2016.
The club announced his re-signing on the eve of the club’s third successive Division One Grand Final premiership victory.
Bullen began coaching with Deer Park in 2013.
Glen Orden – Stuart Daly
Stuart Daly will again coach the Hawks in 2016. It will be his third season as head coach.
Glen Orden finished the season in Division Two in sixth position on the ladder, having won six games for the year.
Hoppers Crossing – Steven Kretiuk
Steven Kretiuk has again committed to the Hoppers Crossing Football Club, appointed senior coach for the third consecutive season.
The former Western Bulldogs defender led his team to the Division One seniors preliminary final, however they lost to eventual runners-up, Werribee Districts.
Laverton Magpies – Paul Growcott
After playing with the Magpies more than 10 years ago, Paul Growcott decided to return to the club in 2016 as senior coach.
Growcott has been coaching Caroline Springs for the past three seasons, and when his former club approached him at the end of the season to return to the club, he couldn't refuse.
He signed on as coach for two seasons.
Manor Lakes – Aaron Bradley
The Manor Lakes Football Club has announced Aaron Bradley as their new senior coach for 2016. Bradley has had recent coaching stints in the GDFL and also in the USA.
Newport Power – Mark Williams
Former Hawthorn premiership star Mark Williams has been appointed Newport Power’s inaugural senior coach.
The Power will be fielding a senior side in the WRFL’s Division Three competition in 2016, with the sharpshooter committing to the club in a playing coach role.
Williams, burst onto the AFL scene back in 2005 when he kicked 63 goals, making him the club’s leading goal kicker.
North Footscray – Shaun Borlase and Matthew Walsh
Shaun Borlase and Matthew Walsh have been re-appointed as co-coaches of North Footscray for a further two seasons.
The club says the coaches have worked very closely with the committee to provide a stable and sustainable environment for the club.
North Sunshine – Joe Larizza
Joe Larizza will again be in charge of North Sunshine’s senior team for 2016. It will be his third season at the helm.
North Sunshine had a big improvement this year, winning six games for the year, compared to 2014 when they won just one game.
Parkside – Nick Condos
More than 10 years ago Nick Condos led Parkside to its last Division One Western Region Football League premiership, now he is back.
Condos will return as coach of the club in 2016.
Last year, he was an assistant for the Calder Cannons in the TAC Cup and before that worked alongside Scott West at Werribee in the VFL.
Sanctuary Lakes – Lee Spry
The Sharks landed Lee Spry for 2016 after he impressed the Sanctuary Lakes coaching panel.
Spry is a former player at North Footscray and coach with Rockbank.
Spotswood – Tom Langlands
The Spotswood Football Club has announced the re-appointment of its senior coaching group for 2016.
Tom Langlands, for the third year, be in charge. He will be supported by Grant Smith.
St Albans – Fabian Carelli
St. Albans have appointed Fabian Carelli as its new senior, non-playing coach for the 2016 season.
He is a former Collingwood under-19 captain and reserves grade player who has played more than 300 games across a number of different competitions.
In 2015 he was a senior assistant/midfield coach at De La Salle in the VAFA.
Sunshine – Brendan Hallinan
Brendan Hallinan will continue as coach in 2016.
Previously, Hallinan was a reserves coach for the Aberfeldie Football Club in the Essendon District Football Club.
Sunshine finished in sixth place on the Division One ladder.
Sunshine Heights – Robert Greto
Sunshine Heights club great Robert Greto will coach the club for his second season next year.
Greto’s men had a difficult year on the field in 2015, having not won a game.
Tarneit – Mark Elso
Tarneit has appointed former Wyndhamvale reserves coach Mark Elso to its top job. Elso was a coach with the Falcons’ reserve side to back-to-back flags in 2013 and 2014.
The Titans spent their inaugural two seasons under Max de Groot.
Werribee Districts – Paul Chapman
Werribee Districts have unveiled three-time Geelong premiership hero Paul Chapman as its new senior coach for 2016.
The club announced the AFL champion, who recently retired from the Essendon Football Club, has been appointed as head coach.
West Footscray
The Roosters have appointed playing coach Scott Lobb as its coach for 2016.
Lobb was a part of West Footscray’s Western Region Football League Division 2 grand final team.
He is set to bring a wealth of knowledge to the team after stints in both the Ballarat and Bellarine Football Netball Leagues.
Wyndham Suns – Matthew Stoodley
Matthew Stoodley will coach the Suns for a second year in 2016.
Coming across from Sanctuary Lakes, Stoodley coach Wyndham to a preliminary final this season.
Wyndhamvale – Troy Beamond
It was a fairytale start for Troy Beamond and Wyndhamvale in 2015, with the Falcons soaring to an incredible Division Two premiership victory against West Footscray.
Beamond will be at the helm again in 2016, as Wyndhamvale moves into the Division One competition.
Yarraville Seddon Eagles – Dean Callaway
After leading the Eagles’ reserves side in 2014, Dean Callaway got his chance to lead the senior team in 2015.
Callaway’s team finished fourth on the Division Two ladder, reaching a semi-final in his first season.
He will again lead the team in 2016.
