The Braybrook Sporting Club is making a fresh start ahead of season 2016, with a new Club President and Board of Management elected at the club’s Annual General Meeting on Sunday.
Leading Braybrook next season is new Club President Bryan Patten, Vice President Steve O’Neill, Treasurer Robyn Cowell and Club Administrator Laura Kretiuk.
Originally coming to Braybrook Sporting Club with his four brothers in 2009, Patten decided to return to Pennell Reserve in 2015 and pull on the boots to support the club’s struggling playing group.
Refreshed from his break from local football, Patten is keen to take on the new challenges as President.
"I plan to run a transparent club in 2016, one where people want to stay and play footy and be a part of a club that I have always called home,” Patten said at the AGM.
The appointments come after the 2015 Board of Management stood down after serving at the club for the past nine seasons.
Among the departures were Club President Harley Smith, Chairman of the Board Neville Smith, Club Treasurer Frank Smith and Administrator Suellen Isherwood.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank every one who has assisted us in our journey at Braybrook, some of who we have made some lifelong friends with,” Isherwood said.
“While we feel it is our time to stand down we are confident the new Board of Management will succeed in the longevity of our great and historic club.
“2016 sees new faces and fresh ideas at the Braybook Sporting Club and we wish the new Board all the best for the future.
“Onwards and upwards for the Brookers!”
