The Deer Park Football Club has re-signed senior coach Marc Bullen for season 2016 on the back of the club’s third successive Division One Grand Final appearance next weekend.
Taking on the coaching role at the start of 2013, Bullen has led the Lions to back-to-back Division One Premierships, and has enjoyed an incredible 23-month unbeaten winning streak, recording 55 wins in 60 outings.
The reappointment was confirmed by Deer Park in a statement overnight, which outlined the club’s delighted with Bullen’s performance and vision for the future.
“The club is very happy with the performance of our coach and have total faith that Marc and his plan on the field has the club in the best possible position in the near future.
“Marc's leadership, vision and experience are some of the key reasons for the reappointment and the club looks forward to the continuing success with Marc at the helm.”
The Lions have also been impressed with its entire senior coaching panel, announcing the reappointment of Reserves coach, Andrew Bryson and Under 18s coach, Pat Christofi.
“Andrew’s ability to teach and lead the club has been outstanding, while Pat’s leadership and support that he offers his players has been second to none.
“Andrew and Pat have done a wonderful job at the club and we all look forward to the continuing success that both Andrew and Pat’s reappointments represent.”
Securing a 46-point win over Werribee Districts last Saturday, the Lions will wait to see who their Grand Final opponent will be after the Preliminary Final between neighbourhood rivals Werribee Districts and Hoppers Crossing on Saturday.
The club’s Under 18s will also be looking for a grand final berth, when they face Werribee Districts in the Preliminary Final at Avalon Airport from 9:30am on September 5.
