Official Announcement - 3x3 Asia Cup Qualifiers 2025, Singapore
Port Moresby – The Federation is pleased to officially announce its 3x3 senior team for the FIBA Asia 3x3 Cup 2025 Qualifiers, taking place on March 26, 2025, in Singapore.
A two-day training camp was conducted at Port Moresby’s Taurama Aquatic Indoor Centre on February 15th and 16th, 2025. This camp led to the selection of the final four traveling members and two non-traveling reserves in each division. The selection process adhered to the criteria established by BFPNG, in collaboration with High Performance Training Centre and an independent selection committee.

David Peter, President of BFPNG, proudly recognized the tremendous efforts of the BFPNG team in successfully meeting the deadline and their unwavering commitment to preparing for international events.
The 3x3 selection process initiated in Kavieng, NGI region, progressed through MOMASE in Lae, and culminated in Goroka during the 2024 All-Stars National Championship, including two separate rigorous two-day trial to refine the athlete selections. President David Peter highlighted the necessity of maintaining eligibility standards, pointing out the removal of athletes who could not provide a valid PNG passport.
With the coaching staff implementing a dynamic style of play focusing on Poise, Pace, and Penetration, the selection committee took into account both on-court performance and off-court character. The final athlete selections were executed by an independent body adhering to BFPNG's selection criteria.
BFPNG has also, announced a change in its coaching staff, appointing Coach Garvin Dela Cruz as the new Head Coach. We extend our gratitude to Coach Nick Daroa for his contributions and dedication to the team.
Both BFPNG and FIBA are unwavering in their dedication to advancing the development of 3x3 basketball in the region.
