3x3 Basketball to represent PNG in the Mini Pacific Game, 2025

Port Moresby – The PNG Olympic Committee last Friday gave the approval for Basketball Federation of PNG to participate in the upcoming Mini Pacific Games in Palau in 2025, in the Under 23, 3x3 division after meeting all the requirements set by the committee’s justification Committee.

David Peter, the President of BFPNG, acknowledged the efforts of the BFPNG team for working under enormous pressure to meet the deadline set by the justification committee and obtaining their approval. He also acknowledged his team's efforts in selecting and preparing the 3 x 3 teams for the international events set for Palau and Singapore in 2025. He said the approval means that there are lot more work that needs to be done in preparing a competitive and regionally inclusive national teams. 

Selections for 3X3 for the NGI region is set for Kavieng this weekend, followed by MOMASE in Lae next weekend and venues and dates for Highlands and Southern Regions are yet to be set. The trials for Under 23, 3 X 3 will be held in Port Moresby in early November 2024 for those selected in the four regions of the country. Players in Port Moresby have been identified and have been undergoing training.
