BFPNG Seeking Sponsorship for FIBA Melanesia Basketball Cup

With ten-weeks to go before the first games of the inaugural FIBA Melanesia Basketball Cup tip-off in Port Moresby, the Basketball Federation of Papua New Guinea (BFPNG) is seeking sponsorship support from business houses and corporate community.

The international sporting showcase will feature national representative sides from Papua New Guinea, Fiji, New Caledonia and Solomon Islands, with games taking place over four-days at the Taurama Aquatic & Indoor Centre. There’s much at stake, with the top three-finishing sides in both men’s and women’s divisions earning qualification for the 2019 Pacific Games.

All matches will be televised live through Papua New Guinea’s oldest and largest free-to-air television broadcaster EMTV, who have the exclusive TV and online rights for PNG, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Fiji and have already entered into discussions with several broadcasters from these countries for possible relay telecasts.

BFPNG are working in partnership with EMTV to secure sponsorship for the event and basketball Chief Executive Officer Joel Khalu said there was some fantastic options available.

“BFPNG have been working closely with the EMTV team over the past few months to construct packages that encompass a multitude of benefits and present tremendous value for investment,” Khalu said.

“There’s three tier levels of sponsorship available, which possess everything from billboards, court signage, radio advertising, television commercials, venue branding, VIP seating and website promotion. The top gold level also includes recognition as the events presenting sponsor and also naming rights to our Papua New Guinea men’s and women’s national teams, which includes prominent logo placement on all team uniforms.”
