Search Underway for Basketball PNG National Team Coaches and Officials

The Basketball Federation of Papua New Guinea (BFPNG) has commenced its search for coaches and managers of its senior national teams.

Applications are being called for the positions of Head Coach, Assistant Coach and Team Manager, for both the men’s & women’s Papua New Guinea representative sides.

Interested candidates are encouraged to send their expression of interest and CV to BFPNG, before the closing deadline of Friday, April 28.

BFPNG President Mr. Nick Daroa said it was an exciting time for the Federation’s national teams and high performance programs.

“2017 a big year for Basketball, especially at the national and international levels,” Mr. Daroa said.

“We have our national championships for men and women set for July and that event will form a significant part of the selection process for our new PNG senior national squads.”

“The level of basketball talent throughout the country is certainly increasing and we are enthusiastic to see that talent come together in action.”

“This is all being done in preparation for the FIBA Melanesian Basketball Cup, which BFPNG are hosting in Port Moresby in late September.”

“Our goal is to have both our men’s and women’s national teams win gold at that tournament and getting the right people leading and supporting our sides as coaches and managers will go a long way to achieving that planned success.”

Candidates wishing to apply can view the position descriptions online via the BFPNG website - www.bfpng.sportingpulse.net
