The tournament ran from December 26 to 30 at the Division of Corrections basketball court. In the consolation game team Kamesang won over team As If for the 3rd place honors. In the championship game Team Assasins were behind from the start of the game to the last second of the game when Team Assasins player and tournament MVP Suki made a desperation 3 pointer from the corner for the win and the bragging rights of basketball in the jail. A fight almost broke out after the game but the officers came in and prevented it. Afterwards in the closing ceremony Kazuki Topps Sungino gave out the awards and prices for the winners and reminded all the players and organizers the importance of why the PBF and PNOC was supporting the program. Character Builiding and Good sportsmanship were the key elements of the program and Topps explained why we all need to fallow the rules and regulations of the game which in turn help us in fallowing the rules and regulation set forth by the community we live in. Topps reminded the players why they were in Jail and what it takes to change oneself. By changing our Character and Attitudes toward everything we do and to keep a positive attitude rather than a nagative one will eventually set us up for success rather than failure. Topps also reminded the players to keep faith and hope in their belief and to work hard and stay strong physically and mentally in order to overcome all the hardships and difficulties we all face everyday. Palau Basketball Federation wishes to thank the Ministry of Justice, Palau National Olympic Committee, Delegate Joel Toribiong and the participants of the program for yet another succesfull year of Basketball in Palau.
