Yrang’s Salon, MOE top foes in GBL

Teams Yrang’s Salon and Ministry of Education (MOE) Spiders nailed separate victories against their rivals, Wednesday night in the ongoing 2014 season of the Rudimch Enterprise Government/Business League at the Palau National gym.

Yrang’s Salon used their second half offensive plays to secure a 104-92 victory over WCTC Powerball. Despite opening strong, Yrang’s Salon found themselevers trailing by the end of the first half via 46-47.

Yrang’s Salon turned the tides around in the third canto as they outscored WCTC Powerball with a 30-27 output to take a 76-74 lead. They then step on the gas in the final quarter as they shot 27 points as to 19 for WCTC enough to take the win.

Arnold Undecimo led the charge for Yrang’s Salon with 28 points as he got huge support from teammates Una Rikrik and Masao Umedip, who finished the game with identical 7 baskets, respectively.

On the other hand, Al Obrero topscored for WCTC Powerball with a career high 44 markers while teammates Francis Tan and Christopher Fillinew chipped in 17 and 16 points on the losing end.

Meanwhile, MOE Spiders dig deep to their bench as they managed to fend off team Malii, 93-61. The Spiders even spread the points for the win with Chevron taking the lead with 31 points while teammates Ramon Roman and Osamu added 24 and 13, in that order.

Gino topscored for team Malii with 19 while teammates Fangi added 10 on the losing end.

In other games, Fish n’ Fins won over SDA Crusaders, 82-58; MOF Omsangel beat MOE Spiders, 81-70; team ABC bested MOH Band Aid, 82-76; and Yrang’s Salon down PPR Stingrays, 99-76.

Games will resume tonight with MOE Spiders versus MOH Band Aid at 6 p.m. followed by the President’s X-Men taking PPUC Electric Eel at 7:30 p.m. while MOF Omsangel will face KSG Royals at 9 p.m.

Team managers, coaches and team representatives are advised that there will be a technical meeting on September 29, 11:30 a.m. at the PNOC conference room. Attendance is a must.
