WCTC Red Rooster downs All Stud
Tournament darkhorse WCTC Red Rooster displayed their passing game as they went on to beat Palau Pacific Resort (PPR) All Stud, 74-60 Sunday in the 2014 Filipino Master League basketball tournament at the Palau National gym.
After taking a 9-8 lead in the opening frame, Red Rooster spurted a 23-22 run in the second as they held on the lead at 32-30 lead at the end of the first half. From there, Red Rooster then showed the passing game as they outscored the All Stud with a 28-14 run in the third canto to establish a 60-44 advantage.
From there, WCTC Red Rooster went all the way as they took the win with Jhun Carabot leading the way with 16 points as they now sport a 3-2 win-loss record while Rolly Jardenazo topscored for the All Stud with 20 baskets as they suffered their 5th loss for a 1-5 tally in the team standings.
In other games, MogMog Rats and Stars won over Mason’s Hardware, 105-87; Melusch Dil won over Surangel and Sons, 76-40; and Gilas Originals drubbed team Kabalikat, 117-51.
Games will resume on September 14 with PPR All Stud versus Kabalikat at 11 a.m. followed by Surangel and Sons against Mog Mog Rats and Stars at 12:30 p.m. as Gilas Originals will face Mason’s Hardware at 2 p.m. while WCTC Red Rooster will be pitted against Melusch Dil in the main game at 3:30 p.m.
