Peched Raw scored double whammy in IP&E NBL

Defending champion Peched Raw scores back-to-back wins after beating separate foes in the ongoing 2014 IP&E National Basketball League (NBL) at the Palau National gym.

Peched Raw first dispose of Ngerchemai Ranchers, 72-63 Thursday night with OJ leading the way with 17 as teammates Weston, Gino Smau and Dennis Castro chipping in 16, 15 and 14, respectively. Shannon Aguon, on the other hand, topscored for the Ranchers with 21 on the losing end.

Then Peched Raw completed their back-to-back wins this time beating the Ngermid Rivals, 90-79 Friday night. In that game, Peched Raw established a 20-11 lead in the opening frame and then continued their run as they closed the first half with a 21-20 output for a 41-31 advantage.

From there, Peched Raw held their ground as they went on to win the game with Gino Smau leading the way with 18 as Traxx Mark Remeliik chipped in 16. King Ngiraboi and Marvic Ngchar led the charge for the Rivals with 22 and 16 but was not enough to fuel a comeback.

In other games, Medalaii Meda Boyz won over Ngermid Rivals, 93-83.

Games resume tonight with Surangel Kings taking on WCC Hammers at 7 p.m. while Ngermid Rivals will face Ngaraard Red Torch in the main game at 8:30 p.m.
