Peched Raw downs Breakers in IP&E NBL

Defending champion Peched Raw stays on course as they managed to beat the Breakers, 90-62, Wednesday night in the ongoing elimination round of the 2014 IP&E National Basketball League (NBL) played at the Palau National gym.

After taking an 18-10 lead in the opening quarter, Peched Raw showed its run and gun style of play as they outscored the Breakers with a 26-8 run to close the first half with a 44-18 advantage.

From there, Peched Raw continued their domination both inside and outside the painted area as they went on to score the win with Dennis Castro leading the way with 23 points while teammates Gino Smau and Douglas Schmidt Jr. chipped in 15 and 11, respectively.

On the other hand, Arnel Skibang topscored for the Breakers with 16 as Vince Malweyong and Noel added identical 10 points, in that order on the losing end.

Meanwhile, Al Obrero sizzled for 35 baskets as he led Matakui in beating Ngaraard Red Torch, 93-80.

In other games, Ngermid Rivals won over the Ranchers, 100-70.

Games resume tonight with Peched Raw versus Medalaii Meda Boyz at 7 p.m. while Ngermid Rivals will face the Breakers at 8:30 p.m.

Monday night games will feature WCC Hammers against Medalaii Meda Boyz at 7 p.m. while Ngermid Rivals will take on Peched Raw at 8:30 p.m.
