Team Medalaii Meda Boyz barged their way into the Elite 8 after beating Idid 4x4 Wheelers, 75-70 Friday night in the ongoing IP&E Amateur Basketball League (ABL) at the Palau National gym.

With the win, Meda Boyz took seed no. 2 going into the Elite 8 series. Trailing 15-25, Meda Boyz struck a 19-10 run in the second canto to cut down the lead at 34-35 at the end of the first half.

Sensing danger, Meda Boyz then made their move in the third as they spurted a 26-16 run to get the lead at 60-51 and from there hanged on to take the win and move on to the next round.

RB Dorado led the cause for Meda Boyz with 26 as Jose Meltel normed 13 while Russel Roman and Medermel Yaoch topscored for Idid 4x4 Wheelers with 19 and 14, respectively on the losing end.

In other games, Breakers beat Neco Marine Stingers, 84-65; Ranchers bested Papago Smooth, 89-79; and Raw Surf defeated Ididers, 75-72.

There will be no games tonight until Wednesday night as the gym will be close for repair. Games will resume on Thursday night with Meda Boyz taking on the Breakers at 6 p.m. while the Ranchers will meet the winner of the Surangel Kings-Melngoes match at 7:30 p.m.

Teams are reminded to use their uniform in every game. The jersey/t-shirts should match with the shorts and their numbers. Teams will be charged $25 for failure to comply and will be defaulted.
