PHS A Spiders score 4th win in ISL Senior Varsity bball
Defending champion Palau High School (PHS) team A Spiders nailed their fourth straight victory this time at the expense of sister team PHS B Gray, 83-51 Tuesday in the 2014 Inter-School League (ISL) Senior Varsity basketball league played at the Palau High School gym.
The Spiders waxed hot at the early point of the game as they secured a 22-7 lead at the opening tip off and extended it to 45-24 at the end of the first half. From there, the Spider met little resistance as they went on to take the win.
Lipsman Timothy powered the Spiders with 27 as Medermel Yaoch and John Masao contributed 15 and 11, respectively while Haydan Mluut topscored for PHS B with 14 as teammates Torres Uchel and Charlatan Melus clipped 11 and 10 baskets on a losing cause.
With the win, the Spiders remain unbeaten as they now sport a 4-0 win-loss record in the team standings while PHS B drops to 2-2.
In other games, PMA drubbed BMS, 78-34; PHS A bested PMA, 59-55; and PHS B won over BMS, 78-24.
A total of five teams will vie for top honors and it include Palau High School teams A and B, Emmaus High School and Palau Mission Academy.
