Patience is a virtue.
This was the theme that sends Western Union beating the Royal Cargo Rangers, 65-58 Sunday in the ongoing 20014 season of the Filipino Basketball League (FBL) at the Palau National gym.

It was a victory that Western Union will cherish as they managed to score a come-from-behind victory. Being down 12-8 in the opening tip, Western Union struggled most of the game as they could not convert their shots with the towering defense of the Rangers. The first half ended with the Rangers taking a 27-25 lead.

Western Union would then make their move in the last canto as their shooters led by Erwin Senadre, Al Obrero and Dennis Castro found their mark dismantling the Rangers defense as they spurted a 22-10 run that would eventually give them the win.

Western Union’s high leaper Anon Cajegas led the way as he normed 16 points while teammates Obrero, Castro and Senadre finished the game with 12, 11 and 10 markers, respectively showing the balance of offense for them.

On the other hand, Emerson Patenia topscored for the Rangers with 12 baskets on the losing end.

In other games, Surangel Stars beat Aloha Maid Choppers, sponsored by Shimbros International, 82-71; Ilocandia Bulls drubbed PNQ Crushers, 117-59; and Liquid Skyy Dragons spanked the Rams, 92-76.

Games will resume on November 24 with FR Spoilers versus Rams in the opener at 11 a.m. followed by the Western Union-Jaguar tussle at 12:30 p.m. as Ilocandia Bulls will test PECI Spartans at 2 p.m. while Surangel Stars will meet Hanpa Cardinals in the main game at 3:30 p.m.
