Team ABC, Sam’s Sharks settle for 3rd place in Rudmich GBL

Teams ABC and Sam’s Shark stood their ground as they managed to beat their respective rivals, Wednesday night to settle for third place honors in their respective divisions in the 2013 season of the Rudimch Enterprise Government/Business League played at the Palau National gym.

Team ABC maintained their composure as they went on to beat Hanpa Cardinals, 72-68 to take third runner up in the Government division. After taking a 19-15 lead in the opener, team ABC meant business as they secured the lead at the close of the first half via 37-30.

From there, team ABC held on as they went all the way to win the game with Perry Oiterong leading the way with 25 points as teammate Rob added 22 while Ben Orbasayan topscored for the Cardinals with 21 on the losing end.

On the other hand, five players from Sam’s Sharks scored in double digits as they drubbed Palau Pacific Resort (PPR) Shark Attack, 131-80 to secure the third place honors in the Business division.

It was a one way street affair as Sam’s Shark displayed their scoring prowess with Franky Kuchad leading the scoring chores with 31 as teammate Armando Canseco, Wade Rdechor, Jacy Kuartei and Chris finished the game with 30, 28, 25 and 17, respectively.

Mike Williams topscored for Shark Attack with 26 while Mark Pagayanan chipped in 15 on the losing end.

Meanwhile, Game One of the best of three championship is playing as of this writing between MOF Omsangel against MOJ Lawmen in the Government division while Neco takes on Surangel Kings for the championship in the Business side.

Game Two of the series will be played tonight with Neco versus Surangel Kings at 6 p.m. while MOJ Lawmen will meet MOF Omsangel in the main game at 7:30 p.m.
