PHS A meets BMS for ISL Girl’s Varsity bball crown

Teams from Palau High School team A and Belau Modekngei School (BMS) are set on a collision course as they will battle for the championship crown of the 2013 Inter-School League basketball tournament at the Palau National gym.

Heavily favored PHS team A barged their way into the finals after beating Mindszenty High School in the semifinals via 63-19. It was a one way affair after PHS team A established a 23-2 lead in the first quarter and never looked back as they pounded MHS to secure the win.

PHS team A’s scoring machine Sarabeth Ksano carried the load as she finished the game with 27 points while sisters Kelsey and Kelly Emilio each normed four points, respectively for MHS in the losing side.

On the other hand, BMS entered the championship round after besting Palau Mission Academy (PMA) Lady Warriors, 33-30. It was a tight games but BMS managed to score the come from behind victory.

Joviann Remoket led the scoring chores for BMS with 14 baskets while Ngeyaol Recheluul tallied 15 for the Lady Warriors.

Game time for the championship will be at 4 p.m. at the same venue while the battle for third place is still playing as of this writing.

Other games played saw PHS A over PMA, 76-19; MHS beat BHS, 37-32; MHS bested PHS B, 63-26; and BMS defeated BHS, 55-50.

A total of six teams are seeing action in the tournament namely Palau High School teams A and B, Bethania High School (BHS), Mindszenty High School (MHS), Palau Mission Academy (PMA) and Belau Modekngei School (BMS).
