Stars-Bulls match: game to watch in FBL playoff

Among the four games set for the playoff round of the 2013 season of the Filipino Basketball League, the match between Surangel Stars against the Ilocandia Bulls has become the game to watch on July 21 at the Palau National gym.

Finishing the elimination round with an 8-2 win-loss record, the Ilocandia Bulls placed themselves in a precarious situation as they will have to meet the Surangel Stars (4-6) in the third game at 2 p.m.

The Bulls will have to work their way inside the paint with Raul “D’Rock” Osias leading the way with fellow big man Joeger Supnet and Don-Don Cabasal. Aside from the muscles inside the paint, the Bulls will also need firepower from their big guns outside with the team of Dovie De Jesus, Asiong Nuqui, Ryan Cacho and Jun Villena.

On the other hand, Surangel Stars will have to make a steady and balance attack as they bid for a return to the Final Four. They will be led by Arnold Undecimo, Rodel Flores, Bong Gayongorza, Melvin Parrinas, Ryan Tayag, Sib Reyes and Ricky Erese.

In other games, defending champion FR Spoilers will face the Jaguars in the opener at 11 a.m. while Western Union will take on PRA Choppers in the second match at 12:30 p.m. as RP Rangers will square off against Hanpa Cardinals in the main game at 3:30 p.m.

Winners of the playoffs will advance to the final four which will be set on July 28.
