8th Annual Island Jams tip off at Ngerchemai

The much awaited 8th Annual Island Jams basketball tournament opens its season with its first leg on June 29 in Ngerchemai.

According to Jon Clapp, this year’s tournament will have some changes. He explained that instead of having a 4-on-4 tournament, they decided to change it to a 3-on-3 tournament to reach out to more kids.

The event will have the 9 to 13 years old and the 14 to 18 years old categories. The tournament will be played in a round robin format and each team will play equal amount of games.

Registration fee is pegged at $1 per player and registration forms must be filled up and submitted together with the registration fee either at the PNOC office.

Brand new basketballs will be given away to the winners of the tournament which will also be played at Ngerkesoaol on July13 and in Medalaii on July 20.
