WU set to test Bulls in FBL Sunday

Team Western Union aims to continue their winning run as they are set to test the Ilocandia Bulls, Sunday in the resumption of the 2013 season of the Filipino Basketball League at the Palau National gym.

Sporting a 5-2 win-loss record, Western Union guns for their sixth win and a spot in the top seed in the team standings. Western Union will again rely on the team of Bong Alambra, Dennis Castro, Erwin Senadre and Ronald Magcalas in their 2 p.m. match.

On the other hand, the Bulls (7-0) try to keep its clean slate as they will be led by the troika of Raul Osias, Jun Villena and Joeger Supnet.

In other games, Jr. Nationals will face Surangel Stars in the opener at 11 a.m. followed by the RP Rangers-Jaguar match at 12:30 p.m. while PRA Choppers will meet Hanpa Cardinals in the main game at 3:30 p.m.

Results of the games played last May 26 saw FR Spoilers thrashing PNQ Rams, 158-54; Ilocandia Bulls won over Jr. Nationals, 20-0; Surangel Stars beat Liquid Skyy, 99-88; and Western Union defeated RP Rangers, 68-59.

Games are supervised by the Palau Basketball Federation (PBF). This year’s FBL League is supported by ATT Bar and Restaurant, HE Automotive, Palasia Hotel, Palau Royal Resort, Surangel and Sons Company, FR Construction, Engrs.
