Team Palau downs Islanders in WNBL

Team Palau showed their scoring prowess as they beat Odesangel Islanders, 78-42 Friday night in the ongoing 2013 Surangel and Sons Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) at the Palau National gym.

Team Palau meant business as they established a 25-8 lead in the opening quarter and from there never looked back as they went on to score the win with four of their players finishing in double figures.

Tint Adelbai led the scoring for team Palau with 12 as teammates Ayla Azuma, Kukong and Ngeroi Olkeriil chipped in identical 10 markers, respectively while Deureng Misech topscored for the Islanders with 22 on the losing side.

Games will resume tonight with team Palau against Peched at 7:30 p.m. while the Islanders will face Smooth Riders at 6 p.m.

A total of six teams are seeing action in the tournament namely Odasangel Islanders, Kryptonite, Peched, Money, Nationals and Smooth Riders.
