MES cools off MSS in EASC Central School boys bball

Team Meyuns Elementary School (MES) Dolphins nailed its third win at the expense of cellar dweller Maris Stella School (MSS), 50-28 Friday in the ongoing 2013 Elementary After School Competition (EASC) Central School boys basketball tournament.

The Dolphins opened the game by taking the lead at 11-10 in the first quarter and then held on to take an 18-12 advantage at the half. Then they spurted a 16-6 run in the third to take a 34-18 lead and went all the way to win the game.

Elton Sapemang led the scoring chores for the Dolphins with 15 as they now sport a 3-4 win-loss record while Spis Senior paced MSS with 12 on the losing end as they remain winless with a 0-7 card in the team standings.

In other games, GBH continues to hold the top spot in the team standings as they won over SDA Kings, 53-43 to take an 8-0 tally.

Games will resume today with the semifinal game between SDA Kings versus MES at the Palau National gym.

Winners in the semifinals will face off for the championship on April 18 while the losers will battle for third place on April 17 at the Palau National gym.

Competing schools include Seventh Day Adventist Elementary School; Koror Elementary School; Maris Stella School; George B. Harris Elementary School and Meyuns Elementary School.
