Melekeok Salty Boys showed their winning form as they drubbed Melwert, 103-73 Friday night in the ongoing elimination round of the IP&E Amateur Basketball League at the Palau National gym.

After taking a 17-16 lead, Melekeok Salty Boys found their shooting touch as they outscored Melwert in the second canto with a 27-14 run to close the first half with a 44-30 advantage.

From there, Melekeok Salty Boys rolled on to win the game with four of its players finishing in double digits. Stanford Blaluk led the scoring fray for the Salty Boys with 21 as teammates Jay Naguit, James and Marvin Ewatel chipped in 16, 15 and 11 markers, respectively.

Francis Tkel topscored for Melwert with 31 baskets but was not enough to fuel a come back as teammates Shallom Charles and James dela Cruz tallied 14 and 13 baskets, in that order.

In other games, Stingers won over Peches, 72-70; WCC Hammers routed Ididers, 137-83; Meda bested Papago Smooth, 80-50; Nationals 17 and Under defeated Cardinals, 84-62.

Games resume tonight with Melwert versus Papago Smooth at 6 p.m. followed by the Peches-PCC Mesekiu tussle at 7:30 p.m. as Ksau Imaging Solutions will face Melekeok Salty Boys at 9 p.m. tomorrow’s matches will have Rivals against Nationals 17 and Under at 6 p.m. as Peches will meet Ranchers at 7:30 p.m. and Melngoes will take on Mesang Red Storm at 9 p.m.

Thursday matches will feature Ididers taking on Melwert at 6 p.m. as Papago Smooth will face Blue Sharks at 7:30 p.m. while Mercury Optimax will meet Ksau Imaging Solutions in the main game at 9 p.m.
