Team Mindszenty High School team B barged their way into the winning column as they bested Belau Modekngei School, 77-32 in the ongoing 2012 Inter-School League (ISL) Junior boys basketball league played at the MHS gym.

MHS B pounded BMS in the second half with a 44-14 output that paved way for MHS B to take the win and sport a 1-1 win-loss record in the team standings. Ketiit Kyota paced MHS B with 20 points as teammate Tyler Otei added 18.

On the other hand, Olshan Tebelak topscored for BMS with 14 on the losing end as they stay at the cellar with a 0-4 tally.

In other games, PHS Spiders won over PMA B, 20-0; PHS Tarantula beat PHS Spiders, 65-27; PHS Bubuu defeated BMS, 51-43; and EHS B drubbed BMS, 58-20.

Games resume today with PHS Spiders versus EHS A at the Palau National gym at 4 p.m. as PHS Bubuu will meet PMA team A at the SDA gym also at 4 p.m.

Monday games will have EHS B taking on PHS Bubuu at the Palau National gym at 4 p.m. while PMA A will face MHS B at the MHS gym also at 4 p.m.

Bracketed in Pool A are PHS Tarantula, MHS team A, EHS team A, PMA team B and PHS Spiders while Pool B is composed of PMA team A, Emmaus High School team B, Palau High School Bubuu, BMS and Mindszenty High School team B.

Top two teams at the end of the elimination round will move to the play offs and organizers remind all teams that fighting will cause expulsion from the tournament, which is supervised by the Palau Basketball Federation (PBF).  By Peter Erick L. Magbanua (Island Times News)
