Money, Peched Reds nail win in WNBL

Title-contender team Money and Peched Reds closed down their first round run in style after beating separate rivals in the ongoing 2012 IP&E Women’s National Basketball League played at the Palau National gym.

Team Money secured the top spot in the team standings after besting arch-rival Kryptonite, 61-56. Trailing 22-25 at the end of the first half, team Money made its way back into the game as they outscored Kyrptonite in the third canto with a 23-15 run to take the game at 45-40.

From there, Money kept its composure as they scored the win coming from behind. Sesengel paced team Money with 33 points as they are 5-0 in the team standings while Holly Farlin topscored for Kryptonite with 12 markers as they are now 4-1.

On the other hand, Peched Reds bested Smooth Riders, 60-31 to score their third win. Sarabeth Ksano led the scoring chores for Peched Reds with 15 as they now sport a 3-2 card in the team standings while Lina Kintoki tallied 12 for Smooth Riders who now slipped to 2-3.

In other games, Peched Reds bested Belias/Underdawgs, 59-57.

Games will resume on May 14 with the start of the second round featuring Peched Reds versus Money at 6 p.m.
