Peched Raw stays unbeaten in IP&E NBL

Defending champion Peched Raw keeps its clean slate after scoring their seventh win at the expense of team Meda, 92-74 Wednesday night in the ongoing 2012 season of the IP&E National Basketball League (NBL) at the Palau National gym.

Down 39-32 after the first half, Peched Raw managed to re-group and led by the duo of Douglas Schmidt and King Ngiraboi they spurted a 33-12 run to grab the lead back at 65-51.

From there, Peched Raw kept its composure as they went on to score the win and remain unbeaten sporting a 7-0 win-loss record in the team standings. Schmidt paced Peched Raw with 25 points while Ngiraboi chipped in 23.

On the other hand, Joshua Kloulubak topscored for Meda with 16 markers but was not enough to fuel them till the end of regulation as they are now 4-5.

In other games, Mercury Optimax defeated Islanders, 71-66; Spoilers won over Melengoes, 107-73; Aqua Smooth bested National 17 and Under, 82-67; Mercury Optimax downed Kabong, 88-86; and Islanders subdued Surangel Kings, 74-49.

Games will resume tonight with Nationals 17 and Under versus Meda at 6 p.m. followed by the Melengoes-Kabong tussle at 7:30 p.m. May 5 games will feature Surangel Kings against Nationals 17 and Under at 7:30 p.m. as 4x4 Wheelers will face Aqua Smooth at 9 p.m.
