MES, GBH continue winning ways in EACS Girls league

Meyuns Elementary School (MES) and George B. Harris Elementary School continued its winning ways after beating respective foes in the ongoing EACS Central Schools Girls basketball league at the Palau National gym.

Meyuns Elementary School nailed its third straight victory at the expense of Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Queens, 58-42. MES started strong as they established a 20-5 lead and then stretched it to 30-21 at the end of the first half.

MES then held on to the end to score the win and post a 3-0 win-loss record in the team standings. Trang Ksano led the scoring chores for MES as she established a career high 53 markers while Nhikka de Lina topscored for SDA Queens with 24 as they slipped to 1-2.

On the other hand, GBH scored back to back victories to take a 2-1 win-loss card. GBH first defeated SDA Queens, 28-24 and then went on to score a 27-23 win over the KES Stars.

In other games, MES drubbed KES Stars, 53-21.

Games resume today with MES versus KES Stars while SDA Queens will meet GBH. Tomorrow’s match up will have GBH taking on KES Stars while MES will meet the SDA Queens anew.

No games will be played on Feb.9 as the tournament resumes on Feb. 10 for the semifinals with the winners going for the championship on Feb.14 while the losers will battle for the consolation on Feb.13.
