Ididers, PPR Shark Attack turn back rivals in IP&E ABL

Team Ididers and Palau Pacific Resort (PPR) Shark Attack scored contrasting victories against separate foes, Friday night in the ongoing 2012 season of the IP&E Amateur Basketball League (ABL) at the Palau National gym.

Ididers used a second half assault to score a come from behind victory over the hard fighting Cardinals, 69-59. Down 31-24 at the end of the first half, the Ididers regain composure in the second half as they outscored the Cardinals in the third quarter to close the gap at 49-44.

Then the Ididers outscored the Cardinals in the final canto with a 25-10 count to sail away with the win. Spice Koshiba led the cause for Ididers with 18 points while Mark Naguit topscored for the Cardinals with 16 on the losing side.

On the other hand, PPR Shark Attack continues its winning run as they beat Ngerkesoaol, 78-71. Byron Andreas paced PPR Shark Attack with 27 markers while Perry Oiterong led Ngerkesoaol with 34.

In other games, Nationals won over PCC Mesekiu, 80-79; Spoilers drubbed Dngerornger Bullets, 110-70; Ikelauans defeated PCC Mesekiu, 96-93; and On Fire downs Kabong, 60-52.

Games resume tonight with Breakers versus PPR Shark Attack at 6 p.m. followed by the Aqua Smooth-Kabong tussle at 7:30 p.m. while Mesang Red Storm meets PCC Mesekiu at 9 p.m. Tomorrow’s matches will have Rivals against B.O.G. at 6 p.m. as Surangel Kings will face On Fire at 7:30 p.m. while Stingers will test the Airwaves at 9 p.m.

Thursday night games will feature the Ikelauans taking on the Nationals at 6 p.m. as the Ranchers will meets team 4x4 Wheelers at 7:30 p.m. while Ngerkesoaol faces the Cardinals in the night cap at 9 p.m.
