Choppers take on Spoilers as WU tests the Slashers

Darkhorse Aloha Maid Choppers will try its luck when they take on the Spoilers while defending champion Western Union tries to keep its hold of the top spot when they test the Slashers in the resumption of the 2011 Filipino Basketball League (FBL), Sunday at the Palau National gym.

Sporting an 8-6 win-loss record, the Aloha Maid Choppers will have a tall order when they meet the Spoilers (10-3) in the curtain raiser at 11 a.m. Set to pace the Choppers are PJ Esguerra, Mark Lofranco, Ronald Reyes, Rey Potot, Nelson Dupalco and John Lloyd Corpuz while the Spoilers will again rely on the team of Michael Bombita, Aries Echanova, Leonilo Gonzales, Mark Pagayanan and Georger Bernardo.

On the other hand, Western Union (11-2) will try to keep its hold of the top spot in the team standings when they face the Slashers (10-5) in the main game at 3:30 p.m. Western Union will bank on the performances of Bong Alambra, Emerson Patenia, Jefferson Crus, Medel Cuyugan, Sonny Jacinto and Erwin Igamen as the Slashers will go to Bon-Bon Pramo, Eric Basco, Jojo and Boyet Arevalo, Bong Montel and JoJo Marino.

In other games, the Ilocandia Bulls will take on the Guardians at 12:30 p.m. while PNQ Rams will meet Surangel and Sons at 2 p.m.
