SUPER LEAGUE WAS TRULY SUPER!

After a week of excellent basketball provided by the four All Star teams, everyone was in awe of the standard provided by the players. Spectators were amazed at the skill level and playing ability of the teams as day by day they continue to rise to new heights.

In the Championship Game, Team A held a slender lead throughout the first half and with an 8 point lead at the long break looked to be in a solid position. But Team D rallied to tie the score at three quarter time and then it was point for point through the final quarter. Team A forward, Clyde Etpison brought the gym to frenzy point as he sank a free throw to tie the score at 54 each with just 3 seconds left in the game.

In overtime it was still close as each team tried to get a break, but after Omar Ganac made a lay-up off a steal with just 12 seconds remaining, Team D was unable to get the necessary score to send the game to double overtime and Team A won by 62-60.

Spectators and basketball organizers alike commented on the high standard shown by these young players and the future looks good with such talented players starting at such a young age.

Following the Championship Game, 30 players were named to the Junior Development Squad to attend the Junior Development Camp next week.
