THE FILIPINO BASKETBALL LEAGUE OPENS UP FOR SEASON 2011
In the opening game defending champions Western Union accounted for team Spoilers who were returning to the league after a year’s absence in an exciting firtst up game by the narrowest of margins 74-73. Western Union’s shooting guard Erwin Senadre had 22 points and his team mate, last year’s MVP, Bong Alambra got 17. National Men’s 15 Years Squad member RB Dorado scored 13 for Spoilers in a losing cause.
In the other game on Sunday Ilocandia Bulls drubbed the PNQ Rams by 85-46.
Games will continue every Sunday at the Palau National Gymnasium until the finals in November.
This year the FBL have several new committee members under President Ronnie Giman and Secretary Camille Reyes and are ensuring that all players and coaches are registered in the Basketball Palau National Registration System.
