President Kyota spoke with the players and encouraged them to work hard at achieving their goals in basketball by following good habits (stay away from drugs). He also asked the parents to encourage their sons to reach their goals.

During the recent 14 Years and Under KSHL (Koror State Hamlet League), the National Coaches, Ziske Asanuma and Jesse Sumor, identified players who might be worthy of selection into the squad for future development. On Saturday during the Super League the coaches finalized their selections. The National Squads are a part of the NDP (National Development Program) of Basketball Palau.

A total of 25 players have been selected and will meet with the National Coaches next Thursday 3^rd February along with their parents to learn more about this year’s program. Parents will be encouraged to help their sons to fulfill the program, some of which, such as fitness and strength and skills, will be a home program to follow.

On Saturday next the squad will undergo their first fitness test at the Palau National Gymnasium. The following week players will start into basic skill learning and fitness and strength programs. While the squad will culminate in the selection of a team for the M15BT, the overall direction of the NDP is to develop players for the future.
