KSHL 14 YEAR BOYS DAY 2 – TUESDAY 29TH

The 9.00am game between Ngerchemai Ranchers and Meda Juniors was played in good spirit with the smaller Meda boys showing that as their size and skills develop they will be a force in junior basketball. Their effort against the taller and more experienced Ranchers team was great and while always behind on the score sheet they never gave up. In the Ranchers win of 75 – 21, it was Sharton Ngiraklei who again led the scoring with 30 points and Orion Anderson contributed 18. For Meda Juniors Keen Sakuma scored 9 and Christine Tellei got 4.

Game 6 saw the two Peched teams matched against each other, Peched and Peched Reds. The game was even throughout up until the final quarter when Peched Reds displayed more patience in their offence to be able outscore their opponents by 9 points and this was the final margin (64 – 55) to Peched Reds. There was some outstanding scoring in this game with both Jalen Tewid and Olkeriil Kyota scoring 26 points for Peched Reds and Jackson Kadiasang and Colbert Etpison scoring 26 and 20 respectively for Peched.

After a bye yesterday Dngerongel/Mekatii Combo had their first game of the league and was up against first up winners in Meyuns. Meyuns took control in the 1st quarter and while the 2nd and 3rd quarters were much closer, they blew away the Combo in the final term to win by 72 – 40. For Meyuns Tanaka Iyar continued his good scoring from day 1 to register 17 points while team mate Kerai Blanc had 14. For the Combo team Jorvan Takawo scored a game high 18 points and Kib Gabriel got 14.

In the final game of the day Ididers got to play their first game against Echang South Coast. The first quarter was close with a 17-15 scoreline at the first break in favor of Ididers, but from there on it was all South Coast as the coasted to a 79 – 43 final score. For South Coast Peace Sumor had a game high 32 points and Edison Sumor had 16. For Ididers CD Ongibodel was their top scorer with 16 and Dior Lakabong got 11.
