GALAXY BUILDERS WIN GBL CHAMPIONSHIP
It was always going to be a close game to decide the Rudimch Enterprises GBL Championship for 2010 and while Galaxy Builders won the first quarter 23-19 it was Surangel Kings who came back to win the second by 22-19 therefore making it a 1 point lead for Galaxy at the long break.
In the first half it was Dennis Castro leading the scoring for Galaxy with 17 points while for Surangel’s their main scorer in Arnold Undecimo knocked down 18.
Surangel came out firing in the 3rd quarter to lead on the score board at the next interval by 3 (62-59). The final quarter was close throughout and in the dying minute of the game Surangels had two chances to win, one on a fast break, and missed both opportunities that saw Galaxy run out winners by 81-79.
Top scorers for the Galaxy Builders team were Dennis Castro with 25, Emerson Patenia with 16 and Bong Alambra with 11. For Surangel Kings Arnold Undecimo scored a game high 29 and Willer got 12.
It was a fitting end to an exciting Rudimch Enterprises GBL Championship for 2010. With the biggest number of teams ever in 23, next year’s league could bring another record number of teams.
