BOY’S VARSITY SEMIS DECIDED

On Tuesday the PMA Warriors simply outclassed the Spiders C team with aggressive defence and far more controlled offence. Coach Rayson King was able to rotate his strong bench to maintain a lead at all times. Leading by 31 – 16 at the half time break it looked like the game was all but over, however the Spiders fought back during the 3rd period to start to make a game of it. Warriors main point guard in Lendl Kloulubak settled into a more controlled offence in the final quarter to lead his team to a comfortable 76-48 win.

In the second semi final on Wednesday EHS Knights started with their usual fast break game and had the PHS Spiders B team in early trouble and led at half time by 19 points. The extra size and rebounding of Knights players Oltag Okeriil and Basilius Gibbons and the speed of guard C-Boy Adelbai caused the Spiders all sorts of trouble. While the Spiders rallied in the second half they could not make up the deficit and went down to the Knights 47-74.

On Thursday the Consolation Game will see the 2 PHS teams face off for third place, while on Friday in the Championship Game EHS will look to win back to back championhips over a very talented PMA side.
