YTS BACK IN PALAU AGAIN
The group also includes two of David’ sons, Caleb and Josiah and a nephew of Dan’s in Matt Dix. The 3 boys are student athletes at high school back home. The group will be conducting Elite player clinics on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for members of the National Youth Squads and the younger members of the National Senior Squads.
On Thursday Friday and Saturday they will conduct clinics for the youth of Palau and will be assisted in this by the players from the Elite clinics.
If the previous visit is anything to go by, the kids of Palau will flock to the clinics to get a chance to stand next to 7 feet Todd and 6’9” David and to have their photo taken with these former NBA players.
In addition the YTS group will also play in the Super League for Men 2010 starting this week and will be supported in numbers by some local players.
Youth Team Sports is a Christian based group from the USA who have travelled to many of the Micronesian countries conducting clinics and spreading the message about the qualities in life that young people need to aspire to.
The group was founded by Richard “Dick” Dankworth some 6 years ago and with the passing of Mr Dankworth last year, there is some doubt that the group may be able to continue the great work that they have been doing. If so, then YTS will have started their tour in Palau in 2005 and finished it in Palau in 2010.
