Team Samoa arrives in American Samoa to compete

With the arrival of Team Samoa, marks a first for the American Samoa Basketball Association since the new administration has taken over since 2013 to host an off-island team in the territory. The independant state of Samoa has sent over 3 teams to compete in this year's Flag Day Samoa Invitational in the men's, girls & boys U18 divisions. Their competition is set to being on April 11 at the American Samoa Community College gym with an opening ceremony and then the girl's competition.

5:30pm Swoosh vs Samoa (Girl's U18)

6:30pm East vs West (Boy's U18)

7:30pm ATR vs Air Ballers (Men's Open)

(All times are in American Samoa standard time)

"It's an exciting time for ASBA we step forward with another one of our goals to host a team in the territory. Even if its just our neighbors, its a good sign for our association that we're moving in the right direction to have off-island teams compete locally. We would like to thank the Honorable Lieutenant Governnor, Lemanu Peleti Magua, DYWA Director, Jonathan Fanene, for working closely with ASBA in making this happen as we move forward into the betterment of our sport." commented Milton Taufa'asau, ASBA President.
