ASBA celebrates Olympic Day with the ASNOC

In its 2nd year in a row, the American Samoa basketball association joins the other 15 national federations in celebration of Olympic Day around the world. ASBA President, Milton Taufa'asau, wanted to continue the Olympic spirit within the basketball community by being part of the festivities. Taufa'asau also mentions, "its a great feeling to see so many of our sporting counterparts come together and celebrate sports & the Olympic movement in American Samoa. This is just another big step in promoting not only basketball in American Samoa, but also developing the athletes and also giving the youth an option of sports to their liking."

ASBA had it's Under 19 basketball team, both men & women, compete in the 10K run & the 5K fun walk. Tauala'i Wells of the men's team came in 2nd place for the Youth Men's category. Taufa'asau was very pleased to see that the training of these young men are coming together well. ASBA congratulates Tauala'i Wells on a great run.

The summer youth clinics also moved its operation to the stadium for the one day to showcase to the ASNOC of basketball development with the youth. Over 100+ youth participated in the clinics & also on the 3x3 fun competition.

ASNOC President, Victor Langkilde, commended the ASBA President on a well organized job of the basketball clinics and huge support to the ASNOC Olympic Day.
