Brisbane Outer Schools League first started in 2013 as a basketball competition to give students a club quality competition where they could represent their school on a weekly basis. The competition exploded from 5 schools to 11 schools in 2014 and work began to create a League of multiple sports.
In 2015 Touch Football was added as the second Brisbane Outer Schools League sport with a senior boys and girls competition. In 2016 a junior competition was added which lead to the competition being at full capacity in 2017. As such, in 2018 extra time slots were added to accommodate the high interest and participation amongst schools. In 2019 the competition was further established as North Brisbane’s premier extra-curricular touch league with more teams and students competing than ever before. Despite the global health challenge of 2020, BOSL Touch was able play the majority of the regular season, with finals played in term 3 as the crisis eased. In 2021 BOSL Touch introduced an Intermediate Division comprised of grade 9-10 students. With the introduction of this new division, the number of teams competing has grown tremendously.
In 2022 the competition moved to the new venue of Caboolture Touch Association. Our 2022 season was significantly disrupted due to the delayed start of the school year and significant flooding making the venue unplayable for the majority of the season. We are back at Caboolture Touch Association for our 2023 season. This year has seen the popular introduction of an Open Mixed Division.
