The top two teams on the Peter Jackson VFL ladder made statements on Saturday, with the Casey Scorpions winning impressively away from home and Williamstown recording a massive percentage-boosting win.
The Scorpions defeated Sandringham by 31 points and the Seagulls accounted for the Northern Blues by 143 points to take their win-loss records to 5-1.
In other matches, Collingwood held off Geelong by 20 points, Footscray scrapped its way to victory over Port Melbourne by 19 points and Richmond blew North Ballarat away in the second half to prevail by 79 points.

Sandringham’s loss saw the Zebras fall to 3-2.
