AFL Goldfields is pleased to announce its final Youth Girls Under 15 and Under 18 Interleague sides to take on the Bendigo Football Netball League at the Northern Oval 2 on Saturday, June 17.
The Under 15 and Under 18 training squads consist of approximately 48 girls who were nominated from their respective clubs across the AFL Goldfields Female Football League.
The selected girls played an Intra-club match on Saturday, May 20 at Eric Boardman Reserve, Sunbury. After a further training session, the final squad of 25 were selected to represent AFL Goldfields against both Bendigo and Geelong.
AFL Goldfields coaching staff has had the arduous task of selecting 25 girls from its 48 exceptional representatives. Twenty-two girls will be selected to play with three emergency players for each game; ensuring all girls receive the opportunity to represent AFL Goldfields during the program.
The purpose of the program is to provide opportunities for Youth Girls to be identified and open opportunities in Rebels / Jets / Cannons Youth Girls Academies.
AFL Goldfields is dedicated to providing pathways and a stepping stone into representative football and then hopefully onto the AFL Women’s competition for all female footballers in our region.
