HOW DID THEY DO IT ?
The oldest records for Men date back to a grass track at the first-ever (South) Pacific Games in Suva in 1963. What was their diet then and how did they train in order for those records to still stand over fifty years later ?
Currently there is an upgrade being done to the track and field facilities at the RKU National Stadium at Bairiki, Tarawa. It is hoped that this will help and inspire future athletes to achieve even better standards as they strive to go faster, further and higher !
Note that, on January 30 2021, in the Joanna Stone Shield Meet at QSAC in Brisbane, Lataisi Mwea added the M 200m. record to the M High Jump record which he set in Australia on October 06. 2019. Then three weeks later, on Feb. 20, also at QSAC, in the Garry Brown Shield Meeting, he improved that new record by 0.07. Steady progress !
