THE BEST OVERSEAS KAA EXCURSION !
The gold medal won by Kiakia in the Micro M400m. Final, the last track event of Day 3, was a great way to finish these Championships. It added to the excellent 2-3-4 achieved by George, Kiakia, and Tanroo in the earlier M200m. Final, George and Kiakia setting new PBs. Nei Kaitinano, suffering from the cold and a cough, still managed to achieve a silver in the WJavelin and a bronze in the WLJ. Raobu hit a PB in the MJavelin with a near-50m. throw. In the MLJ, both David and Buraieta jumped over 6m. but, against the wind, had to settle for minor placings of 2nd. and 4th. and below-par performances.
PROBLEM WIND !
The swirling wind proved to be a problem in a number of events, even in the straight, being sometimes a headwind and later a tailwind.
RESULTS of DAY 3.

In the M400 Heats, Kiakia ran 52.28 to qualify for his Final. This too was a season's best. And so to Day 3:-
