SERIOUS TRAINING.
Since the beginning of March, schools and older athletes have woken up and started serious training. This means that for the last three Saturdays there have been up to 250 athletes working at the Stadium, in their respective groups. Two schools have already held their domestic (Inter-Team) competitions and a number of others will before Easter. As the domestic Teams (within one school) sort out their squads, there has been a flurry of Relay and other timings.

In the special Trial (for information maybe leading to the World Youth Championships in Italy in July), the younger athlete won, proving the value of his training so far this year. In the 200m., Nooa again won comfortably with his fast cadence and short strides ! In the MTriple, Boitu (Schools' Champion in 2008) found some competition. In the MDiscus, Raobu won, but continues to suffer from inconsistency on his rotation and his direction of throw. If he goes to Gold Coast (Micronesia Championships) he will need greater consistency and to be much nearer 40m. if he wants a medal ! He has also been working to perfect a Barishnikov (Discus-style) Shot technique.
