MAINTENANCE !
Having been sweating on working out alternatives to routing our team through Majuro (RMI), due to the doubtful operation of Air Marshall Islands (AMI), we received VERY ENCOURAGING NEWS today that AMI might be back in operation by NOVEMBER 27th. Both their aircraft have required extensive overhauls and maintenance, necessitating a suspension of normal operations.
The good thing about travelling through Majuro is that (a) it is the most direct route from Tarawa; and (b) we have an arrangement with the US Embassy to process our visa applications there in Majuro during our transit stop-over.
Once we are committed to travelling by that route, our possibilities of finding an alternative with available seats become remote, as Christmas approaches !
AND SO TO THE TEAM !
This is the group whose names have been written on tickets on Continental Airlines to get from Majuro to Guam and back. If the AMI forecast comes true, we will then have the same names inscribed on tickets to get us from here to Majuro and back !
COACHES:- Rianimarewe Betero and David Little.
ATHLETES (all male):- Beteru Ateri (Hurdles and High Jump). Buraieta Yeeting (all Jumps). Ieie Matang (Sprints) Rabangaki Nawai (all-rounder but probably not defending his Octathlon title). Tanroo Taniera (Sprints). Tearoba Takeruru (Sprints). Tiim Romatoa (Shot/Discus). All these except Tiim could be involved in Relays, either 4 x 100m. or 4 x 400m.
All the athletes, except Rabangaki and Ieie, competed in the South Pacific Games in Apia this year.
THE VALUE OF PRAYER !
If you believe your prayers carry any weight with the Almighty, please use them on our behalf so that the above athletes can go to Guam and represent their country with distinction. We thank you in advance !
