BENEFITING from SPRINTING.
As coach Rianimarewe ran Tonika over the inverted hurdles at training tonight, it was obvious that the boy had benefited from doing sprint drills earlier in the year. Thus the lead leg was snapping down without him being told, and his sprint action and rhythm seemed totally natural.
Other hurdles drills followed, for lead leg and trail leg. He still has to learn to fold down and land sprinting but his first lesson was very encouraging. And so we add another hurdler to challenge the established stars.
WELCOME BACK !
Having had a serious rest after Samoa (SPG), and taking a break from studies (maybe with one eye on Guam in December), it was good to have sprinters, a hurdler and shot putters all working tonight. Tiim, Takakia, and Itinikaeti all showed signs of good form in the Shot, even after a lay-off. And so we begin to assemble the nucleus of a team for MAC in Guam in December.
It was also great to see FIVE COACHES at the session !
