LUCKY TO HAVE FOUR !
As one of the growing Athletics minnows, we are lucky to have four of our Committee on the Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia, to meet the President of IAAF, Lamine Diack of Senegal. This is his first visit to Oceania. He is due to be accompanied by his IAAF Secretary, Pierre Weiss, and also by Jee Isram from the IAAF Member Services Department. (Jee is a key man in obtaining approval for the award of the IAAF Grant to Member Federations !!!)
OUR OTHER REASONS ......!!
Our other reasons for being here are:- (i) so that two of our members could attend the first IAAF Academy Course for Director of Coach Development, i.e. Tierata and Simon; (b) so that our Delegates (Simon and Karakoa) could attend the OAA Congress - including some discussion about changes to the OAA Constitution; (c) so that I could make a presentation to the OAA Seminar on Federation Management ; so that four of us could network with other members of the Oceania Athletics family ! The fact that we have had to be released from work for up to 20 days indicates the importance we have placed on this occasion.
GRATEFUL.
As ever, we are very grateful to OAA for these opportunities. Oceania AA truly uses IAAF funds for the benefit of the grass (or coconut) roots !!!
