SLOW START !
Unsurprisingly, in his first WORLD event and using the new "zero tolerance" false start rule, sprinter George Pine was rather conservative with his start in Heat 7 of the Mens' 60m. Nevertheless, he placed 6th. out of the 7 runners in 7.46 seconds, a PB. The best of the Micronesia athletes was John Howard (FSM) who ran 7.30. A total of 53 runners contested the 7 Heats, the fastest qualifier being Dwain Chambers (UK) in 6.59. No Oceania athletes qualified for the second round.
